A Briton's view of PLDT

PLDT is erroneously charging our SMS texts (approximately P1 each) at NDD telephone rates (P12.50 per minute or part thereof). We explained this in a letter received by the Bacolod Manager's officer on 6 November.

No reply or acknowledgment was received from PLDT.

A few weeks later we received another bill compounding the error and threatening us with disconnection. We telephoned the Manager's office to ascertain where we could resolve PLDT's problem but the office refused to provide this information.

Until now, PLDT has failed to show that it is addressing its problem, let alone solving it. The overcharging on our bill now exceeds P10,000.

We agree with Primo Esleyer's observations that PLDT's local manager's office should improve its customer relations. Many past and present PLDT employees think so, too.

Yours sincerely,
NEIL HONEYMAN
