The 3rd Negros Oriental Provincial Director G. Buenafe Shootfest Cup was held Saturday at the Dumaguete Shootist Association range in Barangay Looc, Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Rep. George Arnaiz (NegOr, 2nd district) fired the ceremonial shot to start the event sponsored by the DSA through Roy Cang and the Philippine Practical Shooting Association.

Police director, S/Supt. Melvin Buenafe, said participants were from the Visayas and Mindanao and some groups from Luzon .

He added that the shootfest is a sport event that develops discipline and responsibility in every gunholder. All participants were holders of valid license as a requirement, Buenafe said.

Negros Oriental is one of the provinces that strongly supports shootfests as a friendly sport, which is also contributing to tourism development, Buenafe added.*MA
