The Kenosis Band of Cebu will hold a retro party at the Sueño Restaurant and Bar in Bacolod City, December 15, a press release from the event organizer said.

A show called "Blast from the Past" with Manila-based DJ Arnel Genterone will also be held at the Moravia Bar, beside Riverside Medical Center , Bacolod , December 21.

SWEEP online quiz starts

The nationwide 4th Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program or SWEEP Innovation and Excellence Awards will be held today at the Bulacan State University with 21 schools in Luzon participating, a press release from organizers said.

The roadshow online quiz is also set at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City Thursday with nine schools in the Visayas; and eight schools in Mindanao joining, to be held at the Holy Cross College Foundation in Davao City on December 17.

Contestants will go through three rounds of basic engineering questions, with the winner getting a medal and a mobile phone. The quiz is patterned after a Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company system that powers the PLDT Broadband Quiz, an ongoing initiative under its InfoTeach Outreach Program, the press release said.

It also said activities set next year will include the “PalaECEpan”, a competition among students, with a grand prize of P40,000, a trophy, and a cellular phone at stake. Winners in the semifinals will each get a trophy, a cellular phone and certificate of participation.

Participating schools will also receive cash prizes, the press release added.*
