CLMMRH
employees get benefits
BY NIDA BUENAFE

Employees have stopped picketing at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and hospital operation is running smoothly after the management released the employees' benefits including their year-end bonus, OIC hospital chief Dr. Epifania Simbul yesterday said.

She said the year-end bonus and hazard pay of employees from August to October 2007 were released on Nov. 15, and there was a general assembly afterwards during which problems between the management and the health workers were discussed.

Hazard pay for November and December may be released before the end of the month, she said adding that the P5 million assistance from the Department of Health central office was used to pay the employees' benefits and the medical supplies of CLMMRH.

Simbul said, however, that CLMMRH is still supervised by the management team.

Meanwhile, hospital employee Willie Dueño said the management team only partly delivered the demands of the employees since those who served CLMMRH for more than five years have yet to receive their longevity pay for this year. He said the hospital employees are also expecting an additional P10,000 GMA bonus.*NAB
