| Vice Governor Isidro Zayco yesterday challenged the newly elected Sagguniang Kabataan presidents of Negros Occidental to work hard and show that the SK is worth keeping.
SK presidents of the 12 cities and 19 towns in Negros Occidental are set to meet on September 17 to elect the head of the provincial federation who will represent them on the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The newly elected SK officials will have to work for their sector, the youth, Zayco said.
They should be committed to their jobs, because the public impression is that the SK officials do not work, Zayco said.
The new officials should prove the SK critics wrong by attending Sanggunian sessions and implementing projects for the youth, he said.
The purpose of the SK is to build up new and good leaders for the future, Zayco said.
Meanwhile, Zayco said Gov. Joseph Marañon who went to Manila for a medical check up will be back in Negros Occidental on Monday.*CPG
