There's always a
happening in Bacolod

What a town! Not a week goes by without some new event going on. There's always something exciting happening in Bacolod and we are there.

It has been a tradition for the homeowners of Sta. Clara Executive Village to decorate their homes and hold an annual Halloween fundraising activity. This year, despite the strong rains which flooded certain areas of Bacolod , the Village clubhouse was full of kids in all shapes and sizes dressed in their scariest, most original fantasy costumes.

The judges for the affair were Dr. Ver Lacson, Buddai Piccio and yours truly. We certainly had a difficult time choosing the winners as there were more than a hundred contestants! But everyone gamely went into the spirit of the occasion and had ball!

Our good friend Clarissa Araneta informed us that there wil be a Christmas Bazaar and Baratilyo (Garage sale), on December 15 and 16. Oh boy, we wouldn't want to miss this one!

The Off Shore Bar at the Metro Dome, Araneta-Alunan Streets, had a soft opening and blessing recently. As we walked into the impressive entrance, we were struck by the stone-cold gorgeous design of this most unusual bar. The interior designer, Raymond Fuentes, informed us that the concept is like being on an off shore oil rig somewhere in the North Sea (!). What a fantastic idea!

On hand to welcome us were the owners Grant “Jake” Purvis (an Englishman) and his charming wife Michelle Gasataya. We went up to the mezzanine with its attractive metal railings through the quaint circular starway. The place was packed with the beautiful fun-loving people of Bacolod who enjoyed the delicious pica-pica and the cold drinks which flowed all night. What a wonderful place to relax after a grueling day!*
