The 13-year-old girl who was stabbed by a still unknown suspect who also tried to rape her, Thursday last week in Barangay Tamao, Jimalalud, Negros Oriental, died two days later at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City.

Norma Estosata, the mother of the victim, told probers at the NOPH Friday morning, that her daughter was able to identify the suspect as Milyboy Huradas, 28, married, of Brgy. Tamao, Jimalalud.

Police investigators said the victim, who resided at Brgy. Eli, Jimalalud, was walking home alone when she was suddenly grabbed by a man who choked her at a secluded and grassy area.

Sexagenarian hacks teener

A teenager in Sitio Iliton, Brgy. Tugawe, Dauin, Negros Oriental was hacked by a sexagenarian, at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the police said yesterday.

Police investigators led by Dauin chief of police, Insp. Edwin Tuble identified the victim as Jose Tuble, 19, and the suspect as Alfredo Tuble, 60, both of Brgy. Tugawe, Dauin.

Probers said a witness, Victoria Ferrer, disclosed that her husband, who was not named, Jose and Alfredo, 60, were having a drinking spree. When Alfredo, without any provocation, hacked Jose as they were about to leave the place. Jose was hit in the right side of his head, and was rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital , investigation added.

Fisherman drowns

A fisherman drowned at the seashore of Sitio Canibol, Barangay Okiot, Bais City , Negros Oriental, Friday afternoon, records of the police provincial office showed yesterday.

Investigators identified the victim as Romeo Abueva, married, of Brgy. Consolacion, in Bais, who was fishing with his brother, Julian, and Judito Cabusog when the incident occurred.

Julian told the police Romeo drowned when he swan to grab his fishing rod made of bamboo pole.
