The 13-year-old girl who was stabbed by a still unknown suspect who also tried to rape her, Thursday last week in Barangay Tamao, Jimalalud, Negros Oriental, died two days later at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City.

Norma Estosata, the mother of the victim, told probers at the NOPH Friday morning, that her daughter was able to identify the suspect as Milyboy Huradas, 28, married, of Brgy. Tamao, Jimalalud.

Police investigators said the victim, who resided at Brgy. Eli, Jimalalud, was walking home alone when she was suddenly grabbed by a man who choked her at a secluded and grassy area.

The mother quoted her daughter as telling her that the suspect tried to molest her but she was able to shout for help. The man stabbed her with a bolo while she was running away.

Residents nearby alerted the police about what happened and she was brought to the Gov. William Villegas Memorial Hospital and later transferred to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital where she died the following day, investigation added.

Her body was brought to the Jimalalud Rural Health Center for post-mortem examination and autopsy. The Jimalalud police station has conducted a manhunt against the suspect.

Meanwhile, a resort employee was stabbed dead by her co-worker Saturday afternoon at the Antulang Beach Resort, Sitio Antulang, Brgy. Siit, in Siaton town.

The victim was identified as Rosedelin Grapa, 28, married, and the suspect as Victor Ulpos Rosal, 45, a resort worker and resident of Brgy. Junob, in Dumaguete.

Investigators said the victim and the suspect were attending the birthday party of the resort owner before the stabbing.

Rosal was reportedly being urged by his co-workers not to carry a hunting knife, and he got mad and almost stabbed his nephew, Ricky Gajes, if not for the intervention of the victim.

Another co-worker, Todio Ferrer, later figured in a heated argument with Rosal on their way home. Grapa, who tried to pacify him, was stabbed by Rosal.

Grapa suffered stab wounds in the breast and neck that caused her death.

The suspect fled after the stabbing, police reports added.*RG
