Five teams
unscathed in cagefest

Five teams, including defending champion University of St. La Salle , the two University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos schools in Bacolod and Talisay, remain unscathed in the ongoing NOPSSCEA Aspirants' Basketball Tournament in Bacolod City .

UNO-R Bacolod came away with its third win in bracket C, after trouncing erstwhile co-leader Mansilingan Christian Academy , 58-46, Sunday.

The Baby Rams prevailed against Don Bosco Technical Institute, 50-46, in their first match in Nov. 25, before following up with a 76-18 massacre of Tangub Christian Academy .

UNO-R Talisay, on the other hand, leads bracket B with a 2-0 card, after victories over La Consolacion College-Gardenville, 79-56, Sunday and St. Joseph 's School-La Salle, 75-59.

Also at 2-0 is the USLS, whose latest victory came at the expense of Bacolod Christian College of Negros , 65-44. The Baby Stingers earlier prevailed over Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, 75-46.

Sharing the top spot in bracket D with identical 2-0 ledgers are St. Benilde School and St. John's Institute, which will clash on Saturday.

St. Benilde hammered out a 59-50 win over La Consolacion College-Main Sunday at the USLS-Integrated School covered court, a day after SJI cruised to an 80-60 routing of LCC-Main.

MCA stayed in second in bracket C after downing DBTI, 78-72, while SJS-La Salle stayed on track for a quarterfinal berth with by scoring a walkover win against St. Augustine International School .

CSA-B is also closing in on a spot in the last eight, after a 68-53 win over St. Theresita's Academy.*CPT
