win versus local govt's

Businessman Felix Yusay went back to God last week aware that he had won his fight for justice for Sugarland Hotel and himself in the case of the demolition by the Air Transportation Office of the fourth floor of his hotel in Bacolod City .

On November 15, the 19 th Division of the Court of Appeals, issued its ruling awarding to Yusay P8.6 million as compensation for the removal of the fourth floor of the hotel.

The decision, penned principally by Associate Justice Pampio A. Abarintos, also granted lawyer Reynaldo Bagatsing P600,000 in attorney's fees. moremoremore

Bacolod Rep. Monico “Newks” Puentevella, who is one of 34 congressmen who have joined President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on her three-country tour of Europe , yesterday said he was there for meetings aimed at benefiting Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

Puentevella was reacting to criticisms hurled by an opposition solon against those who traveled with the President.

The large entourage of pro-administration solons in the presidential visits to France , Spain and the United Kingdom has been the subject of criticism by Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Teodoro Casiño. moremoremore

Rabid dog bites ten in Talisay

Officials yesterday appealed for cooperation in the campaign against rabies in Negros Occidental after 10 people were bitten by an infected dog in one day in Brgy. Concepcion , Talisay City , Monday.

Provincial veterinarian, Dr. Reynante Decena, said the Provincial Veterinarian's office will conduct a massive round-up and vaccination of dogs in Talisay today to prevent similar incidents in the area.

The victims have been given initial shots of anti-rabies vaccines and are scheduled to receive another dose of medication to ensure their safety, Decena said. moremoremore
