The municipal government of Sibulan, Negros Oriental, has started its campaign against stray dogs by shooting or killing these animals seen wandering the streets of Sibulan.

Mayor Antonio Renacia said the drive came after the town became a member of the Metropolitan Inter-Local Health Zone, which campaigns against rabid dogs.

The public and dog owners in the municipality were advised to keep their dogs leashed in their residences.

Renacia said several road accidents happened because of stray dogs. Getting rid of these animals will protect the riding public and will be for the safety of residents of Sibulan, he added.*MA
