A Spanish biodiesel leader in Europe is planning to invest $200 million in the Philippines to develop at least 100,000 hectares of land into jatropha plantations to be used as feedstock for biofuel facilities, the Department of Agriculture said over the weekend.
The Bionor Transformacion S.A. disclosed its plans to invest in the country through a memorandum of agreement signed recently between AME Bionergy Corp. and the Philippine Agricultural Development and Commercial Corp., Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap said.

A Training on Advance Technology in Meat Processing will be held on Dec. 5 and 6 at the Negros Federation of Sugarcane Planters Training Center in Alijis, Bacolod City .
The training, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry in coordination with the Department of Science and technology and the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors Inc., will provide food processors, livelihood coordinators, restaurants and hotel operators, and schools with relevant knowledge appropriate to the current market demand, both here and abroad.
