Dear Tita,

My husband Ben, is a seaman working abroad and he comes home to visit us whenever he can from his trips to various countries. Our two kids, 15-year-old Daisy and Jojo, 10, miss their father very much as Ben is a very good father and a loving husband. We have a comfortable life because of the money he sends us. I am working with a communications company and my salary allows me to enjoy my capritchos and my frequent outings with friends.

Recently, I bought a new computer for the house as I want to be able to contact Ben through the internet. I am not really very good with computers so I asked one of my co-workers, Lando, to teach me. He agreed and said he would come to the house on Sundays to tutor me. Things went very well and after a couple of Sundays, I could easily operate the computer by myself. I was very grateful to Lando for the favor and offered to pay him but he refused my offer. After the lessons, I would invite him for merienda and we enjoyed talking about our favorite topics. It had been a long time since I had so much fun. I noticed that Lando looked so attractive when he laughed.

One Sunday, while he was teaching me how to operate the other features of my computer, our faces were close to each other and suddenly, he kissed me! I was speechless. I couldn't move and he kissed me again. This time I responded. At that moment, my daughter Daisy walked in and saw us. Lando stood up immediately and left without saying a word. I tried to explain what happened to Daisy but she refuses to listen. She keeps crying in her room and won't talk to me. Lando has been avoiding me at work since that day. I am so worried about Daisy. What if she tells her father what she saw? I don't want my marriage to break up because of a kiss. Please help.

Dear Worried,

It wasn't just a kiss. Your daughter witnessed the whole thing and now she is disgusted with you. Can you blame her? The mother she idolized her entire life has betrayed her father.

No wonder she is tortured. What ever possessed you to succumb to that kiss? Surely you couldn't be in love with this guy. Your other big problem is, what if your husband finds out? How would he react? I would advise you to have a heart-to-heart talk with Daisy and explain to her what the kiss was all about. Make her understand that it meant nothing to you and that you won't see this man again. Hopefully, she is mature enough to understand the situation and won't tell her father. But if she does, then you have to be prepared to explain everything to your husband. Good luck to you.
