Splendor of nature
All our lucky stars must have been shining so that, at last, no
priorities or excuses could deter our plan in the past months to
spend a day at Bing Montelibano's residence in Patag. From a hearty
breakfast, we proceeded to the place. On our way up, we felt the
cool, fresh mountain air, proof that we are away from the pollution
of the city.
Along the roadside grow flowering plants, gigantic ferns, majestic
pines and trees, Oh! What a beautiful view!
At Bing M.'s place we were awed at its height. Indeed it seems
like we were at the "Gate to Heaven."
It was the late Alex Montelibano who found this place and the
family dedicated it as a memorial to him. On the left side of a
strong wooden gate, on an elevated area, stands a beautiful sculpture
of Our Lady of Mediatrix whose unseen power lovingly protects and
guards this place.
The garden bursts with colors of different blooms neatly lined
up, there's the bicolored lantana or "baho-baho," the trailing yellows
bells, and different kinds of grouping flowers.
There is a swimming pool and nearby is a playground with an attractive
swing and a sea-saw and other amusement amenities for all apos,
also the project of late Alex M., and a well-kept resthouse and
gazebo where one can enjoy the view of verdant hills and slopes
and giant trees.
The hills were alive with the sound of laughter of friends reunited:
Sonia Lacson, Carmen Maalat, Racquel Militas, Bing Montelibano,
Mila Moya, Ging Ramos, Nora Tinsay, Mariles Alvarez, Maricel Victorino
and Julie Rustia from Manila and Excuse Moi. The food spread on
the table outdoor dining was a delicious temptation to the diet
conscious, so irresistible that we all said, "Forget arthritis,
diabetes and cholesterol."
It was late in the afternoon when were reluctantly left the place.
What a blissful experience!

Our Amiga Norma Japitana was in town to attend the 10th anniversary
of Robinson Place recently with her media group from The Philippine
Star and Manila Standard. While here the group took time out to
see interesting places what City of Smiles can offer.
Remember: To reflect God's magnificence and brilliance into someone
else's life.*
