CENECO asked to issue
stand on KEPCO contract

An omnibus resolution requesting the National Power Corp., National Transmission Corp. and Central Negros Electric Cooperative for its official comment or stand on the power sales contract between CENECO and KEPCO-SALCON Power Corp. was passed by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

CENECO entered into a contract with KSPC on July 16 for the purchase of its 10-year power supply starting 2011.

The contract, which is to be approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission, involves the generation of 40MW to provide the base load requirement of CENECO consumers by 2010.

850 unemployed avail
of city's skills trainings

More than 850 unemployed individuals from various barangays in Bacolod have benefited from the series of skills trainings being conducted by the Bacolod City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office.

After attending the trainings, they set up their own enterprises and are now making profits, the mayor's office said.

The skills training program is one of the activities being undertaken by the administration of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to promote small and medium scale enterprises and provide more job opportunities.
