'Nude' photos of
teacher investigated
BY NIDA BUENAFE

The Bacolod City Schools Division Office will investigate the latest "scandal" in the internet showing a picture of a public school teacher barely clad in her uniform, and striking an indecent pose.

Schools Superintendent Milagros Gonzales said she created a Task Force to probe the authenticity of the picture. She added that the picture being circulated in the internet embarrasses the teaching force as the subject is wearing the uniform used by teachers in school year 2005-2006.

Gonzales said her office received a copy of the picture saved in a compact disc in April, but the office clerk had kept it from her allegedly to spare her from an "unnecessary concern".

"It was election period and our staff knew that we could not allow ourselves to be bothered by internet scandals," Gonzales said. The clerk only informed her about it on Tuesday after the media started asking questions.

Gonzales said that the CD containing the picture carried a note identifying the teacher and the school where she belongs.

"We have confirmed that the name exists in our roster," Gonzales said.

However, she appealed to the public not to immediately judge the teacher in the picture as "There is always another side in a story". She also reminded the teachers of their moral ascendancy and to rigidly follow the code of conduct of their profession. Gonzales also said she will consult the DepEd regional office on the issue.*NAB
