Dumaguete City ranked first in real property tax collection efficiency
among the cities in Region 7 for the first quarter of this year,
records from the Bureau of Local Government Finance show.
The city collected P25.4 million real property tax or 196.16
percent compared to the P12.9 million target for the quarter. Next
was is Tagbilaran City which collected P25 million, or 190.03 percent
of its target of P13.1 million.
Cebu City ranks third with 175.36 percent collection, having
an output of P377.7 million compared to its target of P215.3.
The fourth best performer in real tax collection efficiency
is Mandaue City, followed by the cities of Talisay, Bais, Danao,
Tanjay, Toledo, Lapu-lapu, Bayawan and Canlaon.
Of the four provinces in Central Visayas, Bohol is number one
with P57.3 million real property tax collection compared to the
P41.7 million target, registering a 137.35 percent performance,
BLCF records further reveal.
Oriental Negros collected P34.1 million against its target of
P30 million, or 113.33 percent performance was second in rank. Siquijor,
the smallest province in the Region 7 came third with a collection
efficiency of 112.50 percent having collected some P4.1 million,
beyond its target of P3.7 million.
Cebu province registered a 108.73 percent real property tax
collection efficiency, with P94.4 million actual collection compared
to the P86.8 million target for the quarter, records added.*RA
