A new museum

Last August 15, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Heaven, was the opening and blessing of the Dizon and Ramos Museum at the Burgos Street, ancestral house of the late couple Raymundo Dizon and Hermelinda "Momsie" Ramos.

Ed Pestaņo, president of the foundation, and Tessie Limjap unveiled the marker while Rudy Dizon and sister Patching Dizon Puentevella with Ramon Hofileņa cut the ceremonial ribbon. Father Narciso de la Cruz blessed every nook and corner of the two-story house where all the memorabilia were displayed - followed by almost all the guests eager to see the exhibit displayed and the paintings.

We were very lucky as Ramon Hofileņa patiently explain to us the different paintings, especially the one of the unknown Silaynon. Every room displayed different memorabilia like the reproduction photos during the Japanese time, Manuel L. Quezon era, family photos and many more. The Dizon-Ramos Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Its managing director is Remedios Bantug, with Raymund Bayot as curator. After a sumptuous merienda we went up to the 2nd floor where an antique dinning table is displayed complete with silver cutlery and table linen and antique furniture.

The Dizon and Ramos clan members were all smiling as many relatives and friends were in attendance.

Remember: Correction does much, but encouragement does more.*
