| Unica hija's unique wedding (2)
When
GP Equipage and Din Jayme Yusay came out of the church to be showered by paper
dolphins, whales, shells, fishes and sea ferns, Manila's Baywalk was jammed with
a fiesta parade and traffic was snarled on the way to their wedding reception.
Well, the newlyweds turned the disaster into a photo op, went into the
middle of the parade and at the proddings of the crowd, kissed for the cameras
as the Manila Bay sunset made a gorgeous backdrop for their beach-inspired nuptials.
The pedestrian throng cheered as their kiss lingered on as cameras clicked and
videos churned on the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A breezy reception
followed at the Gazebo Royale in Quezon City. Although a tad far from the church,
it was the perfect venue for the 500 guests with its artistic ceiling and misting
fans which complimented the beach theme. A stroll on the beach could lead
to the discovery of things washed ashore, fine pebbles, colorful shells, crystals
and driftwood. That two souls could find each other in an unlikely place
is like finding oneself washed ashore on a fine white beach, and being picked
up among the shells by an avid beachcomber. Ten years ago, their eyes
met in Imperial Manille when both were students in UP Diliman. Both had their
hands full at the time and GP kept his fancy for the Southern Belle. Six years
later-when time, tide and circumstances aligned with the stars-like that time
when one finds a prized shell in the sand, the two crossed paths again and GP
never let go of Din. The two discovered their love for the beach, and marked special
occasions enjoying the sand, the sea and their sunshine together. This
time they decided they've both found their perfect pebble, it was time to hit
the church, drown the ocean sounds, and vigorously peal the wedding bells!* |
