Teener confesses to
killing 11-year-old

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The police yesterday filed murder and frustrated murder charges against a minor who confessed to the recent killing of an 11-year-old girl, and of stabbing another teenager, in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

The 16-years-old suspect, whose identity is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, gave himself up to the Isabela police on April 24, four days after he stabbed dead Michelle Sitoy, 11, and hacked her elder sister, Letecia, 16, in her neck, in Sitio Magsaysay, Brgy.Mansabla of the town.

Letecia who survived the assault, yesterday accompanied the Isabela police in filing the criminal complaints against the minor suspect before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Negros Occidental.

The suspect admitted stabbing the two sisters but claimed he was not aware of what he did as he was drunk when the incident took place.

Michelle was declared dead on arrival at the Ignacio Arroyo Sr. District Hospital in Isabela, where her sister was also treated for hack wounds in the neck.

The suspect also admitted using a stainless knife, but denied he had intended to molest the two victims, whose brother, Jinky, is his friend.

The two victims and their brother are orphans, and are neighbors of the suspect who is now under the custody of the Isabela Police Station. *GPB
