Class '73, '80 win
in NOHS bowlfest

Class '73 Globelines and Class '80 emerged as champion in their divisions of the Negros Occidental High School Inter-Class Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

It was Class '73 pinshooters' third consecutive title in the premiere Class A division after winning the 2005 and 2006 crown. In Class B, the Dr. Julian Rizaldy Raca's led Class '80 took their first championship crown.

In claiming this year's plum, Class '73 headed by Jose Butch Villagracia, crushed the never-say-die Class '66 led by Edgar Baldonado with the final tally at 529-517.

Raca's Class '80 group crushed the twice-to-beat Bonnie Ta-ala's Class '70 in two games.

Carrying the Class '73 uniform are Felipe Boy Romero, Hernand Garciniego, Gene Guanzon, Butch Villagracia, Francis Divinagracia, Jerry Rodrigo, Grace Ong, Bert Aragon, and Marilou Coriento, while Raca, Dexter Yap, Kennedy Eusebio, Tura Tabusares, Arnold Evangelista, Nelson Sarol, Ronie Galvan, Nelsie Popen, Mike Villanueva, Lester Pendon and Edwin Marmeto represented Class '80.

Cero Cordova's group Class '68 and Class '82 settled for second and third runners-up in the Class A bracket, as Class '77 and Class '71 placed second and third in Class B category, respectively.

Tournament committee chairman, George Acot said awarding of prizes to the team and individual winners is scheduled tomorrow at the NOHS Quadrangle when the school celebrates its General Alumni Homecoming.

Tournament's record holders to receive their awards are Class '66 in team single at 588; Class '73 in triple at 1,653 pinfalls; Ver Villar, of Class '66, and Grace Ong, of Class '73 in the individual highest single at 168 and 144 apiece;

Tess Aplaon, of Class '65, highest triple with 317 in the women's bracket, and Ver Villar in the men's division with 384.

Eduardo Jara, of Class '62 and Joy Pascual, of Class '74 in highest pinning at 94 and 91 pinfalls.*HLG
