ETCS-DLNHS gains
Junior League finals
BCNHS, TALISAY WHIP RP SERIES FOES
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Defending Junior League champion Education Training and Center School-Domingo Lacson National High swept its double-header assignment yesterday to claim the twice-to-beat incentive heading into the championship game of the 2007 Philippine Series in Batangas.

Representing Bacolod-Negros LL Charter, the ETCS-DLNHS girls overpowered Nueva Ecija, 26-0, before repeating over International Little League of Manila, 15-5, to grab the first finals berth.

The Bacoleņas hiked their tally to four wins in the tournament and strengthened their bid for a return trip to the Junior League World Series in Kirkland, Washington, where they placed second behind US-South last year. A victory against ILLAM in the 10 a.m. championship match appears to be likely for the ETCS-DLNHS clouters, owing to their impressive record against the Manila-based squad.

Be ready, Solis warns Pacquiao

Undefeated Mexican fighter Jorge Solis yesterday vowed to give Filipino champion Manny Pacquiao the fight of his life.

"Manny's winning streak over my countrymen will end Saturday night," the Mexican, whose immaculate 30-0-2 record with 23 knockouts doesn't seem to impress the Filipino champ, predicted during the final pre-fight press conference at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. "I came to San Antonio to win. I am taking home all of the marbles. I hold the pride of Mexico in my two fists," Solis continued.

"Be ready Manny, no excuses".
