Lin-ay first timers

They're fresh from high school and they're first-timers but one of them might just be crowned the 2007 Lin-ay sang Negros next week.

Despite the fact that most of their fellow candidates are relatively experienced in showcasing their talents and answering questions from other beauty queens, Ms. Candoni Candy Granada and Ilog bet Gretchen Simple said that they joined the 13th edition of the annual pageant because they want to develop their confidence. Granada, 18, studied at the University of Nergros Occidental-Recoletos de Talisay and she loves to cook pasta, adobo, and pochero.

She also likes to read romance novels and prefers to dance to pop tunes.

Sixteen-year-old Simple, who finished secondary school at the top ten of her class at the Cabarrus Catholic College in Sipalay, is also into dancing and she said that she is very interested in adventurous things.

Simple also prides herself in being a God-fearing and happy person.

Twenty-three candidates will vie for the Lin-ay sang Negros title on April 20 at the Panaad Park and Stadium at the contest to be hosted by television personality TJ Trinidad, while the talent night is set April 18 at SM City.* PP
