Tension rises
in Pulupandan
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Tension rose again in Pulupandan when a pathway built by Sitio Pukatod, Barangay Pag-ayon residents was destroyed by supporters of mayoralty candidate Magdaleno Peņa, Mayor Luis Mondia said yesterday.

The residents are now building another road, he added.

Peņa, on the other hand, said the road was built on private land that he is leasing and cuts across a stream. The road blocks the exit way of water that will cause flooding in Pulupandan during the rainy season, he said.

Meanwhile, an ambulance that delivered a patient to property owned by Peņa and was unable to leave the area after the road was closed by his supporters was retrieved by the police yesterday, Mondia said. All four tires were flat so the police had to fix them before they could get the ambulance, he said.

Peņa, on the other hand, said the ambulance was sent into the area to pick up a person responsible for beating up one of his supporters.*CPG
