Former Rep. Jose Apolinario Lozada yesterday denied rumors that he will quit the race for congressman of the fifth district of Negros Occidental in exchange for certain perks.

"I am not going to be a traitor to my people," said Lozada, who is running against presidential brother-in-law Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr.

Lozada said he was on the campaign trail and there is no way he is giving up on his bid for re-election. He also denied rumors that in his last electoral battle against Arroyo, he allowed himself to be bought for P25 million.
