Voters' education campaign set

The National Federation of Women's Clubs-Negros Occidental Chapter will launch a voters' education campaign in the province this month, a press release from the group said.

The group, led by chapter president Marina Esteban, is targeting college students from the cities of Bacolod, La Carlota, Bago, Kabankalan and Silay.

The NFWC Foundation recently issued guidelines for the public who may want reference in the exercise of their right to vote. These guidelines are derived from present social concerns that the country is facing and, at the same time, from the motto of the foundation which is "For God, Country and Family," the press release added.*

Mayor inducts Manokan officers

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia inducted the new officers of the Manokan Country Vendors' Association yesterday, a City Hall press release said.

Sworn in were Marites Lamier - president; Rosario Tutor - vice-president; Delia Umbao - secretary; Elizabeth Baker - treasurer; Lulu Belle Fernandez - auditor; Victoria Capote - PIO; Chairman of the Board is Norberto Taroza and members are Caridad Villadolid, Henry Posadas, Gina Tabaco, Alice Concepcion, Allan Peņaflorida and Adelyn Bellando. Also present were Vice Mayor Renecito Novero and Councilor Thaddy Sayson.

Manokan Country is one of the tourist come-ons in Bacolod, serving the best tasting chicken "inasal" since 1983, the press release added.*

UNO-R Batch
'87 homecoming slated

Members of Batch 1987 of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos High School in Bacolod City will hold their two-day homecoming on May 5 and 6, a press release from the batch said.

A dinner will be held on May 5, 6 p.m. at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City to celebrate 20 years of their lives after high school.
