Dialog with NegOr officials set

Representatives of different women organizations will hold a dialog with political candidates 2 p.m. today. at Bethel Guesthouse in Dumaguete City for women voters to discuss issues facing their sector with local candidates.

Cecilia Hoffman, executive director of the Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation, said they will focus on six areas of concern for women which are their economic situation, violence against women, reproductive health and family planning services, councils for women, sexual exploitation especially of young girls, and environment and infrastructure. The participants will come from the urban poor, peasants, students, women with disabilities, barangay health workers, academics and women from local government units and church organizations.

Hoffman said a list of issues facing women was drawn up for the forum. More than 100 women representing various organizations in Oriental Negros also met on February 16 on women's priority concerns.*RG
