The Department of Education in Kabankalan City hosted
the first 2007 Regional Management Committee meeting on March 28
with Regional Director Victoriano Tirol as guest.
It was attended by 44 participants composed mostly
of division superintendents and assistant division superintendents
in Western Visayas, a press release from Kabankalan government said.
Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr. gave the welcome remarks at the opening program
at the function hall of the Farmers Center and Rizalino Tortosa,
CESO VI, school division superintendent gave the opening message.
Topics tackled were the Palarong Pambansa 2007
in Koronadal, Cotabato City, teachers' uniform, in-service summer
training for teachers on science and mathematics, and construction
of school buildings program for 2007.
The delegates were also toured in the Mag-aso
Falls, the city hall building, the sanitary landfill, and the operation
of the composting machine, the press release added.*

Theater workshops for kids set
A theater workshop for children will be held April
23 to May 19 at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City,
a press release from organizers said.
It will be conducted as part of the Negros Summer
Workshops, headed by Peque Gallaga, which includes courses in children's
theatre, children's movement, teenage film production, teenage acting
and improvisations for teens.
Courses for students and professionals are director's
apprenticeship, film production, production design, stage management,
make-up for stage and film and basic acting. Interested partiese

Low
water supply
set today: Baciwa
The Bacolod City Water District announced yesterday
that there will be low water pressure to no water supply from 1
to 4 p.m. today in Greenplains Subdivision, Singcang, Tangub, Gardenville,
Pahanocoy and Sum-ag.
This is due to installation of blow-off valve in
Barangay Handumanan. Water situation is expected to normalize at
5 p.m., its press release said. Consumers are advised to take necessary
measures to avoid undue inconvenience, the press release added.*
