Docs eyeing free
medical services for poor

The Philippine Academy of Family Physicians in Oriental Negros headed by Dr. Johnny Yee said it is willing to put up a clinic equipped with medical facilities to meet the pressing need for a physician for the poor patients of Dumaguete City and the province.

Dr. Noel de Jesus said the clinic will be open everyday for free medical check up and at least one doctor should be assigned it. There are 50 medical doctors specializing in family medicine who are willing to extend free medical services, he said.

Members of the association said they believe in the importance of health but most people neglect this and seek medical help only at the last minute.

De Jesus said that, through free medical services, they will not only help the poor but also the government.*MA
