Four Bacolod squads
open RP Series bids

Four teams based in Bacolod City, led by Junior League (13-14) softball World Series runner-up Education Training and Center School-Domingo Lacson National High School, start their respective title bids in the 2007 Philippine Series today in Tanauan City, Batangas.

The ETCS-DLNHS girls, who lost to US-South in the finals of the Junior League World Series in Kirkland Washington in August last year, opens its RP title defense against Nueva Ecija at 12 noon at the Altura ballfield. ETCS is also fielding a team in the boys and girls' Little League 11-12 competitions. The ETCS 11-12 girls will battle International Little League of Manila at 8 a.m. at the Loyola Memorial Park, simultaneous to the ETCS-ILLAM boys' division clash at Altura.

The ETCS teams are representing the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Little League charter.

The fourth squad from Bacolod, the Bacolod City National High School Big League 14-18 team will also clash against ILLAM at 10 a.m. at the Altura.

Veronica Belleza and Analie Benjamin, who have made their mark in the United States in the past three World Series tournaments, are expected to spearhead the ETCS-DLNHS Junior League side.

A perennial title contender, Domingo Lacson National High School is not seeing action in this year's tournament in the wake of its much-publicized debt with a local travel agency that led to its absence in the Senior League World Series last year. *CPT
