Siquijor eyes
anti-hunger allocation

The Siquijor Provincial Nutrition Office said it hopes that part of the P1.126-trillion national budget will benefit real project beneficiaries as social payback to the people for what it called the "fiscal turnaround of their government."

It said the province continues with its nutrition improvement efforts, including Operation Timbang with emphasis on rehabilitation of malnourished children, supplemental feeding, micronutrient supplementation, deworming and other nutrition-related activities.

Government reports said this year's budget will increase the flow of social returns to the people in terms of adequate food on the table, decent jobs and broader access to basic social services.*RG
