Suspect in man's
slay identified

The National Bureau of Investigation released yesterday the cartographic sketch of one of the suspects in the killing of Gary Baradas whose body was found in a vacant lot in front of the Lupit Church, Bacolod City at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Alen Baradas, cousin of Gary, identified one of the suspects, as between 4'11" and 5'2" in height, about 30 to 35 years old with small build, and dark brown complexion.

Case investigator PO2 Celito Dullan said they are eyeing robbery as the motive of the murder. Gary sustained multiple stab wounds and his wallet containing about P300 in cash and cellphone were missing, police reports said.*CBM

Antique PNP
has new chief

A senior police commissioned officer who served as police chief of the cities of San Carlos and La Carlota in Negros Occidental in the late 1990's, is now the provincial police director of Antique.

Senior Supt. Ren Darroca took over the Antique Police Provincial Office command from Supt. Romulo Demiar, in a ceremony presided over by Region 6 police director Wilfredo Dulay last Friday, at the Gen. Leandro Fullon headquarters in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

Demiar commanded the Antique Police Provincial Office as officer-in-charge for six months. Darroca joins Senior Supts. Rosendo Franco and Modesto Sanson, former police chiefs of Sagay and Victorias, who are now serving as police provincial directors of Negros Occidental and Guimaras, respectively.

Trike driver
mauled, knifed

One was stabbed and five were injured in stabbing and vehicular accidents in Bacolod City and nearby towns in Negros Occidental yesterday, police reports said.

Tricycle driver Arnold Camposano, 25, married, of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental was driving his tricycle when six people allegedly waylaid him at Tapi in Kabankalan, at about 4 a.m. yesterday. Camposano was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City after sustaining stab wounds on his stomach and right ride of his back, allegedly by the six suspects, reports added.

Meanwhile, three persons were injured when two motorcycles collided at Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City at about 7 a.m. yesterday.

Jerald and Sally Ocillada, 25 and 26, respectively, of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental were rushed to the CLMMRH when their motorcycle bumped the motorcycle driven by Rex Gonon, 27, of Purok Mainabyanon, Brgy. Sum-ag in Bacolod who was also brought to the same hospital.

Jerald sustained lacerations on both arms and mouth while Sally, sustained laerations on both arms and foot, police reports said.

Gonon suffered lacerations on his left leg and left eyebrow, police reports also said.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Espinosa, 35, married, was riding his motorcycle when he hit a post at City High in Bacolod at about 1:20 a.m. yesterday.

Police reports said Espinosa was rushed to CLMMRH at about 1:37 a.m. for sustaining lacerations on his left eyebrow, shoulder and forehead.

On the other hand, Raymart Quige, a minor, was side-swiped by a van allegedly driven by Anjo Habaradas when he crossed the street at Felipe Lacson Streets, Talisay City, Negros Occidental at about 7:45 a.m. yesterday.

Quige was rushed to CLMMRH at about 8:15 a.m. for treatment of his laceration on the right leg, police reports said.*CBM
