Exhibit, launching

The 4th Waling-Waling festival was sponsored recently by the Negros Occidental Orchids Society headed by Julie Benedicto, its founder and supporter, at the ground floor of Robinson's Place in Bacolod City.

Virgie Gallespin was the event chairperson, Lalay Suarez and Nelly Gaston were co-chairpersons and Giovanni Kilayko is president.

Fr. Rolly Escubido officiated at the blessing which was followed by a hearty merienda for the guests and passersby.

The exhibit featured the history of Waling-Waling orchids, and the development of its other varieties of its strain.

Handouts on the history and how to care for Waling Waling were given. The Negros Occidental Orchid Society aims to acquaint the people of the magnificent orchid that is truly Filipino, to educate the people on the value of conserving these lovely orchids.

Lunch was served at L' Fisher Don Ricardo Hall I recently, for press people to meet some retailers and would-be retailers of the Tropical Company.

Husband and wife Jet and Antoinette Lacson, are the owners of the establishments.
