WW2 bomb found

A World War 2 vintage aerial bomb capable of demolishing and flattening a building was discovered by a sugarcane worker in Hacienda Claudio, Brgy. 2 poblacion, Sagay City, during the weekend.

Supt. William Seņoron, Sagay police chief, yesterday said the vintage bomb that is about 6x12 inches in diameter was found by Ronilo Caņeto on Sept. 8 in the hacienda.

The vintage bomb which was mistaken as scrap iron, was immediately turned over by the Sagay police Police Officer 1 Johnny Orban, bomb specialist of the Escalante City Police Station for proper disposition. Initial police investigations show the vintage bomb may explode if it is forced open.

Several vintage bombs were also discovered at the site of an airport of international standards in Brgy. Bagtic, Silay, which were immediately detonated.*GPB
