Women's confab on
agribusiness opens today

Rural women involved in agribusiness will gather in the "National Convention Cum Seminar Workshop on e-Entrepreneurship" starting today and ends Sept. 14 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Bacolod City.

The convention, organized by the Rural Improvement Club and Home Economics Extension Association of the Philippines, will have the themed "e-Entrepreneurship Women's Access Toward Sustainable and Functional Agribusiness".

The opening rites will start with a mass at 7:30 a.m. and followed by a program with Agriculture Undersecretary for Field Operations Emmanuel Paras as the keynote speaker.

The RIC mini fair will also be unveiled. During the Fellowship/Cultural Presentation tomorrow, National RIC Coordinator Edarlina Perdido will give an overview on the Search for the Best Rural Improvement Club Entrepreneur 2006 and Dr. Cecille Del Castillo, chairperson of the Negros Women for Tomorrows Foundation, will give a talk.

On Thursday, the closing program will be held at Mambukal Resort in Murcia at 2 p.m. where the winners of the Entrepreneurship Competition will be recognized.

The guests will be Director Alberto Maningding of the Aklan Technological Institute; Provincial Agriculturist Igmedio Tabianan; National RIC president Alma Grace Fausto; National HEEAP president Avelina Fernandez; and National RIC Coordinator Edarlina Perdido, who will turn over the "key" to the next host.*
