Hotel operator favors killings
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A local hotel operator said yesterday that eliminating "troublemakers" in Dumaguete City is good for business.

Roy Cang, owner of Bethel Guest House, and Cang's Store said the recent liquidation of notorious police characters and drug personalities is a good sign, but he is apprehensive about the short-cut procedure.

Cang said he is worried that these killings will go out of hand and will become a source of embarrassment or problem in the future. But for now, it has a positive effect on business, he said. Meanwhile, regional tourism council chairperson, Board Member Mariant Escaņo Villegas, has requested friends in media to report and promote positive undertakings in the province.

She said she has observed that crimes of this nature are not only happening in Dumaguete but in other key cities in the country.*JG
