Gov't troops scored
for harassment

A couple claimed they are being repeatedly harassed by a group of persons and alleged government troopers in Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Janico de la Cruz reported to the police that he was shot three times, allegedly by Cpl. Raniel Villasis and three militiamen on Oct. 9 at Purok Saging, Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela, but he was not hit.

His wife, Arlen, also claimed that she was harassed by a group of persons identified as Nonoy Sumagaysay, Francis Sumagaysay, Jundy Sumagaysay and a certain Panoy Guzman on the same day in the barangay. Col. Gregorio Fajardo, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, yesterday vehemently denied claims of harassments, and that militiamen as well as a soldier only responded to an incident of illegal discharge of firearms.

Kagawad Janico de la Cruz Sr. endorsed a .38 caliber revolver with two ammunition taken by his son, Janico, from Guzman. Mansablay Kagawad Rodolfo Dagumampan, meanwhile, said that contrary to reports his residence in Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela, was not strafed on the same day.*GPB
