Handgun of cop stolen

Robbers in Dumaguete City do not spare even the police and one of them lost a handgun of unknown caliber that he left inside the u-box of his motorcycle parked outside the Silliman University Medical Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

PO1 Joel Aberia, 29, married, of Dr. Meciano Road, and assigned at the Regional Mobile Group detachment in Brgy. Calango, Zamboanguita, Oriental Negrosm said he left the gun in the motorcycle at the parking area of SUMC. Then he went into the hospital to bring food to the person taking care of his confined sibling.

He returned minutes later and went home to Dr. Meciano Road, and when he checked his u-box, he found the gun missing.

Aberia said he believes the thief loosened the u-box to remove the gun.*RG
