2 cops facing
administrative raps
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Two city police officers were disarmed during the closing program of the 2006 Buglasan Festival of Festivals Sunday, at the Capitol grounds, in Dumaguete City.

One was disarmed for public scandal when he was seen Sunday night with an issued firearm while not in uniform. Buenafe refused to reveal his name but he said the policeman has been reprimanded.

For challenging another police officer of Dumaguete to a duel and pointing his gun at PO2 Reynaldo Alvarez, early yesterday morning, PO1 Bernard Aba, a member of the 705th Provincial Mobile Group, was also disarmed.

PO1 Pedro Cabcaban said he witnessed the incident. Aba was temporarily brought to the PNP command post and was reported to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

PNP city chief, Supt. Dionardo Carlos, has recommended that Aba be made to undergo a liquor test.

PNP provincial commander SrSupt. Buenafe said administrative sanctions may be filed against the erring police officers.*JG
