collect 61 golds

Three squads from Negros Occidental made big waves, combining for 61 gold medals over the weekend in the Visayas leg of the Pilipinas Youth Swimming Cup Sectional Meet 2 at the Dumaguete Aqua Center in Oriental Negros.

The Sta. Fe Aquatics fished out 28 golds, while the Negros Panaad Swimming Club and Francisco Guanco Swimming Team posted top honors in 20 and 13 events, respectively.

Mary Angela Pandan and Cleistah Sol Sabusap grabbed six golds each to spearhead the campaigns of SFA and NPSC, respectively, in the girls' 11 and 13 years old categories.

Class '86 stays on top

Class '86 continued their winning ways in the 10th St. Joseph High School La Salle Alumni Fellowship Bowling Tournament at the Lopue's East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

After three rounds of ballrolling, the Class '86 bets leads the pack with 4,299 pinfalls followed by Class '79 with 4,264. In third is Class '78, 4,238 followed by Class '84, 4,231; Class '83, 4,219; Class '85, 4,199; Class '68, 4,198; Class '75, 4,099; Class '73, 4,078; Class '81, 3,962; Faculty & Staff, 3,932 and Class '82, 3,795.

Musso five snares title

Musso Enterprises held off a late surge by Builders to score a 67-64 victory for the championship of the 2nd Conference of the YBAC 12th Anniversary Basketball Tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Coco Rodrigo and Ramil Jaype amassed 8 points each in the fourth quarter to spearhead Builders' comeback attempt after trailing 61-69 at the end of the third period.

Builders, however, fell short of stealing the crown as Roger Jaype and Embo Caņete poured in 8 points apiece in the period for Musso to keep their rivals at bay as Joemarie Panisales also canned 7 markers.
