Musso five snares title

Musso Enterprises held off a late surge by Builders to score a 67-64 victory for the championship of the 2nd Conference of the YBAC 12th Anniversary Basketball Tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Coco Rodrigo and Ramil Jaype amassed 8 points each in the fourth quarter to spearhead Builders' comeback attempt after trailing 61-69 at the end of the third period.

Builders, however, fell short of stealing the crown as Roger Jaype and Embo Caņete poured in 8 points apiece in the period for Musso to keep their rivals at bay as Joemarie Panisales also canned 7 markers.

After a low scoring first half with the count tied at 25, Musso's James Jaruda erupted for 13 points in the third quarter to lead his squad in creating a 39-31 buffer going into the final canto.

Jaruda finished with 15 points to anchor Musso's balanced offensive attack, while Caņete contributed 12 markers. Backstopping the Musso leading scorers are Panisales and Jaype with 10 points each.

Pacing the Builders' losing effort was Rodrigo with 14 points. Also coming up big for Builders were Jaype and Nonoy Fernandez, chipping in 10 markers each.

Meanwhile, STP Brake Fluid clipped Emban Enterprises, 81-74, for the second runner-up honors in the tournament. STP raced to a 22-15 advantage at the end of the opening quarter behind the 8 points of Nelson Co, including two three-point connections, before establishing a comfortable 40-26 at halftime.

Co anchored STP's assault with 15 points on three three-point shots. He was backstopped by Nars Galang and Dods Siopan, who registered 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Ed Fregil topscored for Emban with 14 points, but was held scoreless in the crucial fourth quarter with his squad having a 42-53 deficit. Also posting solid numbers for Emban was Pax Rodriguez with 10 markers. *CIT
