The Department of Tourism will participate in the China International
Travel Mart on November 16 to 19 at the Shanghai New International
Expo Centre.
CITM, organized by the China National Tourism Administration,
is one of the most anticipated travel trade in China held interchangeably
between the cities of Shanghai and Kunming. In 2005, the event was
held in Kunming and attracted more than 3,100 exhibitors, 1,125
of whom from overseas.
Tourism Undersecretary Eduardo Jarque Jr. said in a memorandum
to DOT-accredited members that prior to the CITM, the DOT will hold
the Philippine Travel Exchange on November 15 them provide the opportunity
to meet and interact with the Chinese travel trade sector.
Jarque said that in Shanghai, DOT has reserved 117 square meters
for the Philippine Pavilion, larger by 27 square meters than the
country's booth space last year.*NLG
