Capitol mulling
billboard regulation
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Sizes of billboards along highways and other strategic locations in Oriental Negros will soon be regulated to avoid accidents, especially during strong winds.

There are at least 10 huge billboards in Dumaguete City, prompting Mayor Agustin Perdices to call on the Sangguniang Panlungsod to come up with regulations and not to wait for accidents occur like what happened in Manila. Perdices said regulations may be in the form of limiting the sizes, and the area where they are supposed to be installed.

He also raised the possibility of requiring a mayor's permit before these billboards are established and to comply with easement laws.*JG
