ON NURSING EXAM
Angara backs retake;
Recto says not for all

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Sen. Ralph Recto yesterday said those who took and passed the June nursing licensure test in the Visayas and Mindanao should not be required to take it again, but Senator Edgardo Angara said it was necessary for all of them to do so to erase the stigma of a scandal.

Both senators were reacting to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's order for nursing students who took the June licensure examination to retake tests three and five, which were the sections said to have been leaked.

Angara said that, since it was the fault of those in government that a leak occurred, government should not only shoulder the costs of the examination but also the transportation, board and lodging and review classes of those who will have to retake it.moremoremore
