'A grand birthday bash'

Bacolod's "crème-de-la-crème" turned out in full force for the glitzy, ritzy birthday celebration of the city's popular hotelier, Felix Yusay. The fab party was held at the Grand Ballroom of Sugarland Hotel, where the cosmopolitan guests gathered to greet the tall and dashing celebrator.

His loving family, headed by glamorous wife Tess, together with their children and grandchildren, helped him welcome the invitees to the party.

As soon as we breezed into the grand ballroom, we saw that the place was jam-packed with Felix's elegant well-wishers who were all in a party mood. Sparkling red and white wine flowed all night to the delight of the wine drinkers who drank to their hearts' content.

The dinner was absolutely fantastic. The hotel's talented executive chef outdid himself with a buffet of gastronomic delights.

The program opened with a Broadway musical number by the hotel's front desk and sales staff, followed by delightful performances by Felix's grandchildren. A beautifully touching poem was read by one of the apo's. Felix's good friend, Babes Alvarez, was called upon to say something about his friend and Babes came up with a funny tale of their trip abroad and their incredible "Snake Story". (You have to ask Babes or Felix about this as my lips are sealed!).

The audience wildly applauded the couple's presentation as they sang their favorite song. Felix wowed the crowd when he danced with such gusto (Wow, would you believe that this guy's 81?). Soon, the dance floor was filled with guests who simply enjoyed dancing all night.

Needless to say, the guests left the party that night with another beautiful memory of a truly wonderful evening. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FELIX!*
