Piano-violin duo
concert set Saturday

The Ilusorio and Muņoz Piano-Violin Duo will be presented by the Negros Cultural Foundation and the Sacred Heart Seminary Foundation at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at the John Paul 2 Cultural Center, Lupit Church, in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.

The event is in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines-Outreach Program and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Chilean violinist Juan Luis Muņoz and Filipina pianist Mariel Ilusorio partnered in 2005, and have performed in critically-acclaimed concerts throughout South Africa, for various music societies and festivals, the press release said.

They also organized their own chamber music series at Rhodes University entitled "Juan, Mariel and Friends," whose characters Juan and Mariel teach and live in Grahamstown with their 5-month-old daughter, Anita Mariel, the press release said.

Proceeds of the pre-Christmas fund-raising will be used for the continued preservation of the Negros Museum and the renovation and repairs of the John Paul 2 Cultural Center - two significant landmarks in the Negrense cultural landscape.

The public may visit or call the Negros Museum (Tel. No. 708-5080) or Sacred Heart Seminary (Tel. No. 433-9827) for information and ticket reservation, the press release added.*
