The business development service/training provider-partners
of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development for Sustainable
Employment Program-German Technical Cooperation in Negros Occidental
are drafting plans for the marketing and promotion of respective
training programs for the local tourism sector.
The BDS providers - La Consolacion College-Bacolod,
VMA Global College and YES Services Inc. - are offering tourism-focused
training programs for the upgrading of tourism-related skills
of the resorts and restaurants personnel in the province.
Representatives from each BDS provider and partner-agencies
Department of Trade and Industry and the Technical Education Skills
and Development Authority are attending a three-day Marketing
Strategy Planning Workshop until tomorrow at the Sugarland Hotel
with GFA-engaged German consultant Britta Klemmer as facilitator.



Cebu
Pacific may
fly anew to Singapore
SINGAPORE - Cebu Pacific Air of the Philippines
is in exploratory talks with Singapore airport authorities to
use its budget terminal, paving the way for the carrier to fly
to the city-state again, an aviation official said yesterday.
The carrier is one of many that are considering
using the purpose-built terminal for low-cost airlines, a spokeswoman
from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore said.
"CAAS has spoken to a number of airlines including
Cebu Pacific Airways who may have an interest to operate from
the budget terminal," the spokeswoman said, adding no official
confirmation had been received as yet. 


Seminar
on detecting
fake currency slated
The Bankers' Club of Negros Occidental Inc. will
sponsor a seminar on "Peso and Dollar Counterfeit Detection" on
June 17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., a press release from BCNOI, said.
The venue has yet to be finalized.
Maja Gratia Malic, manager I of the Currency Analysis
and Redemption Division of the Cash Department of the Bangko Sentral
ng Pilipinas Manila, will be the resource speaker.
Participants will be taught how to detect fake
or counterfeit peso and dollar notes and other currencies, the
press release said.
