A grand
birthday celebration

The guests numbered 250 people. A grand bash was held last May 15 for the birthday of popular young businessman Hardy Yap, son of Harry and Evegene Yap, owners of Hardy computers and Hardy Marketing. It was a double celebration for Hardy and his cousin, Wilford Sy, son of Dr. Willy and Rose Sy, owners of Wilrose Bldg. and WSY Equipment. The affair was attended by prominent members of the Chinese community, together with some politicians and suppliers from Manila and Cebu, who trooped to his uncle Eugene Sy's posh home at Mt. View Subdivision, where the party was held.

There was an unmistakable air of excitement as the celebrator and his guests greeted old friends with such warmth and gusto as only Negrenses can. Everyone enjoyed the lavish buffet consisting of traditional party fare carefully selected for the occasion. Hardy was all over the place, seeing to it that his guests had a good time. Sounds of laughter filled the air as the happy and relaxed crowd mingled and teased each other, all in the spirit of good, clean fun. The festivities lasted until late with the young crowd reluctant to call it a night. Hardy's guests bade him goodbye and thanked him for a super, wonderful bash. Happy Birthday Hardy!

The rains are here again, announcing the end of summer of 2006. It'll be back to school soon for the students who wish their vacation could last a little longer. Sorry kids, it's back to reality again. By the way, did you notice how expensive school supplies and clothes are now? Parents are reeling from the high cost of enrolling their kids at private schools, but they have no choice. They have to dig deep into their pockets to give their kids a good education. Ah well, such is life!*
