Loptta paddlers vie
for Rector's Cup

Paddlers donning the colors of the Lopue's Table Tennis Association will compete in the University of Santo Tomas Rector's Cup National Table Tennis Championships from May 27 to 28 at the UST Gym in Manila.

Mark Francis Jimenez, Johnard Baldonado and Isaias Seronio will vie for the men's team title, while Marell Lagunday, Susan Tayag and Karen Paņa are eyeing the crown in the women's team division.

Jimenez and Lagunday, who have been carving their names in national events, are expected to power LOPTTA's campaign.

LOPTTA has been reaping championships in the national scene with the latest coming in the 2nd Dr. Tirzo O. Delos Reyes Sr. Memorial National Table Tennis Tournament, where its men's squad topped the competitions in Albay. The men's team winner of the UST-hosted tournament will receive P12,000 and a Rector's Cup, while the second and third placers will have P8,000 and P4,000, respectively, with glass trophies each.

The titlist in the women's team hostilities will bring home P9,000 and a Rector's Cup while the first and second runners-up will be handed P6,000 and P3,000, respectively, with glass trophies apiece.

The event is organized by the Metro Table Tennis League, in cooperation with the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics-UST.*CIT
