Silverado maintains top ranking

Priming up for the tougher task ahead, Silverado ASSFBI sustained its sizzling run to stay on top of the 2006 Cebuana Lhuillier Open 4-Man Mixed Bowling Championship on Tuesday at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex Super Lanes in Bacolod City.

With one more game to play in the tournament, the Silverados headed by Edgar Allan del Rosario, are expected to clinch the twice-to-beat incentive after compiling a comfortable 12,285 pinfalls, 185 pins ahead over second-running Barangay I Triple C of Capt. Sammy Gaitan with 12,103.

Tough Trucks/NPBC of Jaime Chua and SR Bowlers of Steve Be came in third and fourth with 12,016, and 11,814.

LJP Trading NPBC has 11,648, followed by Plaza Arcade I/Bago City Bowlers Association, 11,626; MJS Bowlers, 11,511; Stag COBBA, 11,385; LJP Trading NPBC I, 11,363; Knights of Columbus, 11,275; NPBC JT Motors, 11,271; Circle Inn, 11,104; Cebuana Lhuillier, 11,091; Kundutel, 10,835, and Plaza Arcade 2/Bago City, 9,995.

Silverados team's highest single and triple records are unsurpassed at 550 and 1,520 balls, respectively.

In the individual contest, Rey Bala-an, of MJS Bowlers registered the new record in highest triples with 414 pinfalls, Pete Aplaon, of Brgy. 1 took the single mark at 17. Gil Villagante of Cebuana Lhuillier pinning mark of 94 is unerased in the men's division.

Tess Robles, of LJP Trading NPBC II is the record holder in the women's highest single at 145, while Susan Robles of Tough Trucks booked the highest triple with 359, and Eva Khubchand of MJS in pinning with 93.*HLG
